iPad mini analysis

I taked iPad mini with Wi-Fi only. So I made all tests with any situations. Looking in www.gsmarena.com and check all specifications of lastest normal iPad (retina display) and iPad mini without retina. Image density is very perceptive comparing both tablets. I understand why Apple put in iPad mini a PowerVR 543 with capability to process 7.2 giga floating-point per second (GFLOPS) against iPad retina with PowerVR 554 with capability to process 14.4 GFLOPS.

Retina display has 1536 x 2048 (totalizing 3145728 pixels). iPad mini has 768 x 1024 (totalizing only 786432 pixels). 4X more to address. The speed is practically same. Although 554 is more powerful, 543 (used in iPad mini) have the same speed.

Aspect of iPad retina is not cool because a large white or back border. iPad mini has a thin and discrete border. The iPad mini is smaller and fits in the palm of the hand. Like a Kindle.

Other point is the weight. More slight. iPad retina is so heavy. In this case, iPad mini is more confortable.

iPad retina has a big battery. Even having more power consumption, the stand-by mode iPad retina will be more time against iPad mini. So iPad retina is better in stand-by requisite. In normal operation both have same battery time.

Retina display is expensive. Than iPad retina is expensive. iPad mini is more cheap. In Brazil this point make a BIG diference.

iPad mini is assembled in Brazil, creating new jobs and increasing brazilian economy. Already the iPad retina is still mounted in China, making our country more poor, with unemployment and industrial deceleration. Then choose the national product, please.
